Study: Fallujah tragedy worse than Hiroshima

The rate of cancer and congenital deformities among the population of Fallujah, Iraq has risen dramatically since the city was bombarded by the US in 2004, says a study conducted by a medical team.

According to UK newspaper the Independent, Dr. Chris Busby, who took part in the study, confirmed that the city's suffering is much worse than that suffered by Hiroshima residents as a result of the nuclear bomb.

Iraqi doctors in Fallujah have complained in the period that followed the American campaign on the city - during which phosphorous bombs were used - of the occurence of many cancer cases and congenital deformities in new births, in addition to a reduced number of male births compared to past rates.
