اكتشاف الحجاب: معرض فني يعيد تعريف غطاء الرأس في نيويورك

(Dis)covering the veil: Art Exhibition in New York redefines the head cover

Marjan Satrabi, Sarah Rahbar, Basmah Ahmed, Marilyn Harring and Katrina Daschner are female artists who participated in an exhibition hosted by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Manhattan, New York, entitled: (Dis)Covering the Veil, the Seen and the Hidden.

The exhibition included male and female artists from the Middle East and several Western countries, whose works reflected their perception of the veil, or rather its trademark, the head cover, which has become synonymous to Islam and sometimes a symbol of this religion.

The exhibition also included paintings, video presentations, sculpture works and photograph shots representing the concept of the veil in the view of its owners, their impressions, seeing it as a reflection of their environments and different cultures.

This is why these works were greatly diversified representing the veil in different shapes and several perspectives ranging from being one of the effects of childhood and education to being linked with fear and repression, to becoming a symbol of coexistence.

The imaginations of artists varied in the use of the veil, thus it was used as part of hair curls, or even as a brick in the construction of a bee hive.

The exhibition began on May 22 and was opened by a seminar that discussed the issue of the veil from an artistic perspective. It will continue until August 29.

مارجان ساترابي, سارة رهبار, بسمة احمد, مارلين هارينج و كاترينا داشنر هم فنانات شاركن في معرض اقامه المنتدى الثقافي النمساوي في مانهاتان, نيويورك بعنوان : اكتشاف الحجاب, المرئي و الخفي . ضم المعرض فنانات و فنانين من الشرق الاوسط و دول غربية عدة, شاركوا باعمالهم التي تعبر عن رؤيتهم للحجاب, او بالاحرى علامته المميزة وهو غطاء الرأس الشهير الي صار يرتبط دائما بالاسلام و يرمز له احيانا.

ضم المعرض لوحات,عروض فيديو, اعمالا نحتية و صورا فوتوغرافية تعبر عن مفهوم اصحابها للحجاب , انطباعاتهم عنه و رؤيتهم الفنية له كانعكاس لبيئاتهم و ثقافاتهم المختلفة. لذا شهدت الاعمال تنوعا كبيرا عرض للحجاب من عدة مناظير تراوحت بين كونه احد مؤثرات النشأة و التربية الى ارتباطه بالخوف و القهر و حتى التعايش.

تفاوتت مخيلات الفنانين بين استخدام الحجاب كخصل شعر او حبال او حتى لبنة لإقامة خلية نحل كجزء من الاعمال الفنية. بدأ المعرض في 22 مايو بافتتاح ضم ندوة ناقشت موضوع الحجاب من منظور فني و يستمر المعرض حتى 29 من اغسطس الجاري.
