Gaza's top judge orders female lawyers to wear the headscarf

Gaza's top judge, Supreme Court chief justice Abdul-Raouf Halabi, has ordered that all female lawyers in Gaza courts wear scarves covering their hair and long, dark gowns underneath their legal robes.

The move comes despite Hamas' previous insistence that it would not impose Islamic law or its own conservative values on Gaza's residents.
